Overlooking certain home & auto endorsements could mean thousands of dollars out of your pocket if you have an issue without the appropriate coverage. The severity of storms across the country have been getting progressively worse for several years with no end in sight. When assessing policy options for my clients and potential clients, coverage is my focus over and above everything else. A premium savings, if there is one, is simply icing on the cake. When we get used to the same old coverage and paying the same old bills, it is in our nature to assume we are getting the most out of what we pay for. I, like everyone else, have the same mindset for many things. However, when it comes to something as important as your insurance coverage, my goal for new, existing and potential clients alike is the same. You need to understand not only what you pay for, but why you are paying for it. Once you understand a certain coverage for example, I'm not selling you anything. You are weighing what things look like if you have the coverage vs. what things look like if you don't. If no one takes the opportunity to explain these things, what good is having an agent these days?
